My name is Stacey Porter, and I come from a small-ish town in Northeast Indiana. I have been singing and performing since middle school. My grandfather and I would spend hours in his music room singing his (and soon my) favorite pieces from Patsy Kline, Harry Connick, Jr and The Sound of Music to Gospel and Church hymns. I started, as most singers do, with school choir, and later cantored at church with my grandpa. Eventually, I was introduced to show choir and musical theater in high school and I was in love! I loved this singing, dancing and acting thing. My first role was Ado Annie in Oklahoma, and it is still one of my most favorite. I went on to play Fruma Sarah in Fiddler on the Roof (so fun and scary), Milly in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and soloed in percussion and voice in my high school show choir. Once in college, I was encouraged to try Opera. That was a whole other level fun, and the quality of singing was immensely beautiful to me. In college, I played the roles Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus (my favorite to date), Fildama in Matrimonio Segreto, and Sally in A Hand of Bridge. I also recorded a jazz CD at the school recording studio. Jazz is another love of mine. After receiving my BM in Vocal Perfomance, my husband and I moved out to Seattle, WA. Since living in Washington, I have been an Opera Singer, Kindermusik teacher, voice instructor, preschool music teacher, Children's performer and Church choir director. I have two beautiful children, whom I spend most of my time with, and enjoy pursuing my music career on the side. If you have need for an Opera, Jazz or Gospel singer, please do not hesitate to contact me via my website. I would be very happy to share my talents with the world.
